Trump drew a contrast with the Biden administration by pointing out that his administration had set record-low unemployment rates with nearly every demographic, had led the country to energy independence, and had seen low gas prices. The Biden administration, on the other hand, was overseeing skyrocketing gas prices, which Trump compared to a “tax hike” on consumers, and was set to propose the “biggest tax hike in the history of our country to pay for everything.”
“It’s a very devastating thing,” he said. “It’s a very sad thing to watch.”
