A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed by police on Tuesday afternoon, reportedly about the same time as the ‘guilty’ verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial came in. The girl’s name is Makiyah Bryant, who was pronounced dead at 5:21 p.m.
Protesters appeared in Columbus, Ohio and carried out a strikingly well-organized march on behalf of Makiyah Bryant.

It turns out, as earlier reported, that Makiyah Bryant indeed had a knife. The Columbus, Ohio police released body cam footage that shows what happened.
Furthermore, the footage shows that she was shot while wielding a knife against another girl.

Once again, this is a case where a crowd called for “mob justice” without knowing the facts. Below, members of the community shouted obscenities at the police officers on the scene.
